A very personal service with original designs created for individual tastes, in natural fabrics. Jacqueline has particular expertise in corset pattern cutting - this creates the big difference to achieve

a perfect finish, whether it be contemporary or period style. Let Jacqueline show you examples of her exquisite embroidery and how she achieves figure flattering corsetted bodices, a technique requiring special skill. see the process from design ideas, cottton toile stage, throuhgh to fittings and the final gown. Alban Brides specializes in hand crafted bridal gowns such as: Elegant bias-cut silk gowns softly draped to flatter the figure. Flowing gently into the train. Figure flattering corsetted bodices, embellished with finely crafted embroidered designs. These include textures, flowers, leaves and patterns designed with Venetian bead, pearls and crystal. Every individual bodice is cleverly cut, each panel is boned to support the bust and flatter the waistline. The sculpted bodice is securely fastened with hooks and bars and decoratively finished with either lacing or buttons and loops.

Gold and silver colour jewelled tiaras individually created to complement the dress. All the tiaras are my original designs, meticulously handcrafted using gold and silver plated wires. They are entwined and shaped into designs inspired by the jewellery worn by queens and princesses through the ages.

Each piece is individually produced using crystal and pearl style pieces, intricately positioned to create a beautiful adornment. Alternatively, beads are available in various colours which can be custom made to compliment the embroidery of your own wedding gown and the theme of the wedding. I will be delighted to advise on design and colour co-ordination on any custom made tiara to best suit your personality.

Airs and Graces is located in the picturesque market town of Berkhamsted, on the borders of Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

There has been a bridal shop on the same premises for the past thirty years, and it came under the present ownership in 1995. Unfortunately, the attractive Victorian premises had not had a complete facelift since the original bridal shop opened so, in December 2006, we decided to do just that. The showroom was completely modernised and extended and now allows us to keep an even greater range of bridal wear and accessories in stock. One thing hasn't changed, however, and that's the friendliness and knowledgeability of our staff, who will go to any lengths to make sure that you are totally happy with your wedding gown. And all this in a relaxed atmosphere!

Airs and Graces is family-owned and -run and offers a distinctive and individual selection of gowns for the modern bride and her attendants. Our gowns range from funky and fabulous to serene and sophisticated and the utmost care is taken to select gowns of an individual style from leading design houses.

To complement your chosen gown, we have an extensive collection of fashionable gowns for your bridesmaid(s), as well as a fabulous collection of handmade designer tiaras, feather headdresses and bridal shoes – all with a colour co-ordinating service – to ensure a perfect match!
The Groom isn't forgotten either. For the all-important man, we have a range of bespoke waistcoats and neckwear in addition to a full hire service of formal attire.

The showroom is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10.30am to 5.00pm (evening appointments by arrangement). As we pride ourselves on individual attention, appointments are preferred (and essential on Saturdays).
